Zhang Hong, a mathematics teacher of special grade, was awarded the title in 2002. She was born in October, 1968. She is an instructor in Outstanding Teachers' Workstation in Haidian District, editor of national compulsory education curriculum standard experimental textbooks (Beijing Normal University edition), and part-time researcher of Children' s Education Institute in National Institute of Education Sciences. As a training expert of teaching materials (Beijing Normal University edition), she has taken part in training teachers in different areas and given research courses and lectures in different cities and provinces. She has published some papers on all levels of educational newspapers and journals. Tsinghua Children's Maths, which is edited by Zhang Hong, has won the first prize in Beijing Basic Education Achievements, Haidian District Innovation Award and has made a far-reaching influence across the country.

Based on the exploration she has developed her own teaching style. She has always taken finding students' real questions as the starting point of teaching and research, and has taken the students' improvement as the only indicator of effectiveness of teaching.

She has always been studying on students' behavior, thought, and cognitive rules and always enjoyed it.
