Kong Lingyi, a mathematics teacher of special grade, was awarded the teacher of special grade title in 1986. He was born in March, 1932 in Tongxiang, Zhejiang province. He once participated in the revolution in June, 1949. After graduating from the Department of Mathematics in Sichuan University in June, 1956, he became a math teacher of basic course in Tsinghua University. In 1960, he transferred to Tsinghua University High School to be a maths teacher and the head of teaching and research group. He retired in November, 1992. Kong frequently participated in compiling middle school mathematics teaching syllabus, middle school textbooks (People's Education Press edition) and new textbooks in the 21st century. Besides, he is the editor and author of over 20 monographs and several papers which have far-reaching influences, such as Mathematical Problem Solving Method in Senior High School, Second Classroom, and Ability Training.
