Tsinghua University High School Held the Spark Cup Youth Basketball Elite Competition 2020 and Wins the Championship

On the evening of October 6th, under the guidance of the Youth Department of General Administration of Sport of China and the Department of Physical, Health and Arts Education of the Ministry of Education, sponsored by China Basketball Association and China Students Sports Federation, and hosted by Tsinghua University High School, the Spark Cup Youth Basketball Elite Competition 2020 ended in the basketball gymnasium of Tsinghua University High School.

This competition took the form of group round robin, and the top two teams competed for the champion and runner up. All players were born after January 1st, 2003. In the group competition, the boys’ basketball team of Tsinghua University High School defeated Beijing No.4 Middle School 93-59, Guangdong Hongyuan Youth Team 88-83, Shandong U17 Youth Team 68-61 respectively, and finally advanced to the final as group winner.

In the final, after extra time, Tsinghua University High School defeated Shandong U17 Youth Team 87-81 and wins the championship. The next three teams are Shandong U17 Youth Team, Guangdong Hongyuan Youth Team and Beijing No.4 High School Team. Shi Kui, No.6 player of Tsinghua University High School, wins the "Most Valuable Player" in the competition with his excellent performance in the final.

Over the years, Tsinghua University High School attaches great importance to the healthy development of students and actively explores how to improve the training level of young sports talents. Although the scale of this invitational tournament is relatively small, it creates a precedent for the campus team and the club team to compete on the same stage, which is the concrete integration of sports and education.
