Zhao Hongyan, a math teacher of special grade, was awarded this title in December, 2014. Ms. Zhao was born in 1970 and is member of the Communist Party of China. She graduated from the department of mathematics of Hebei Normal University in 1991, and obtained her master's degree of education from the Capital Normal University in 2004. She once served as the vice-director and later the director of Academic Affairs Office in Tsinghua University High School, and have been holding the position of vice-principal since July, 2012. Zhao has always been working on the frontline of teaching, and was once the head teacher and math teacher of "one-stop experimental class" in Tsinghua University High School. Under her instruction, students won the first prizes many times in international, national and provincial competitions. she won the first prize on behalf of Beijing in the National Math Teaching Competition,; many of her papers were awarded above municipal level or published by core educational periodicals. Zhao has been granted the "Backbone Teacher in Beijing", "Academic Leader in Beijing", and "Excellent Director of Faculty Training in Haidian District". She is at present the project leader of the Handheld Technology and Integration of Mathematics Education, the school scientific research project of the Middle School Mathematics Committee, Chinese Society of Education. Zhao also holds the position as the vice-director of mathematics supervisor group in Haidian teachers' station.
