The China-U.S. Youth Basketball Invitational and People-to-People Exchange Camp Makes Its Debut at Tsinghua University High School

From October 9-12, 2025, the first stop of "The China-U.S. Youth Basketball Invitational and People-to-People Exchange Camp", organized by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE), commenced at Tsinghua University High School (THUHS). The Basketball Invitational Tournament was held on October 10, 2025.


The event was attended by Yu Changxue, Director of CCIPE; Kyle Spencer, President of Utah Preparatory Academy (USA); Wayne Briggs, the academy’s Dean of Academic Affairs, along with visiting students; Dong Dong, Professor at Beijing Sport University and gold medalist in men's trampoline at the London Olympics; Fang Yan, Principal of THUHS; Vice Principal Zhang Jie and Xu Wenbing, as well as faculty and students fromJohn Mo Sports Specialty Class of THUHS.


Opening Ceremony


In his speech, Yu Changxue highlighted the role of sports and cultural exchange as a bridge and an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and American youth through a shared experience. Principal Fang Yan expressed hope that young people from both countries would serve as envoys of goodwill and, through non-governmental exchanges, help advance the vision of “building a community with a shared future for mankind.” Kyle Spencer remarked that the basketball game had brought together people from across the globe and would pave the way for lasting friendships.
