He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1997 and stayed there for teaching. He permanently engaged in teaching and scientific research, CPC building & ideology and politics, and cadre work, held the post of Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee in Electrical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, Office Director of Party School, Vice Minister of CPC Committee Organization Department, Minister of CPC Committee Retirement Department, Head of Retirement Office in succession.
