Wang Dianjun, principal of TUHS

First of all, Wang Dianjun, principal of TUHS, delivered a speech entitled “The Big Data-Based Generative Evaluation of Students’ Comprehensive Quality - Making Evaluation a Pivot of Instigating Elementary Education Reform”. He introduced the trend of the comprehensive reform, the idea and specific operation of comprehensive quality evaluation, the practical experience of TUHS and insight into the future of comprehensive evaluation. Principal Wang emphasized that selection, evaluation and cultivation were the most important aspects of education and how to carry out comprehensive quality evaluation had gradually become the most critical problem in the reform of National College Entrance Examination, while solving the problems of “qualitative versus quantitative”, “standardization versus personalization” and “authenticity versus scientificity” added to the difficulty in implementing the comprehensive quality evaluation. Based on the actual situation of the school and the needs of students, TUHS has explored and developed a comprehensive quality evaluation system for middle school students featuring dynamic quantitative functions. The system collects data from multiple dimensions, laying a solid foundation for long-term tracking of student cultivation and development. It assists students in their studies, entrance examinations and career planning and enables deeper educational application through the deeper exploration of big data, so as to stimulate greater educational vitality. It also accumulates the most comprehensive big data for the empirical research of Chinese education.
